Jacqueline Sells Homann
Jackie Homann, the first female partner in Jones Obenchain's 100-year history, has been practicing with the firm since 1997. Prior to that, she spent six years at Barnes & Thornburg and a year clerking for the Honorable Harry C. Dees, Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Court for Northern District of Indiana, South Bend division.
Jackie's practice has two facets. The first is that she serves the United States Bankruptcy Court as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee. As a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee, it is her responsibility to liquidate assets for the benefit of creditors, and to protect the integrity of the bankruptcy system. Her experience as a Chapter 7 Trustee has given her many skills that have served her well in her other area of practice: litigation. She represents businesses, both closely held and national companies in State and Federal Court. Although focusing on business disputes, she also does construction, personal injury, and workers compensation. Jackie considers it her privilege to assist her clients in avoiding problems before they lead to litigation and, if litigation results, to help them understand what the real issues are and bring a resolution as promptly as possible.
In addition to her work as a lawyer and Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee, Jackie is also a wife and a mother and active in her community. She currently serves as the president of the Morris Entertainment, Inc., Board of Directors. She is active at St. Peter Lutheran Church, serving as Chair of the Gifts & Talents Committee and the Liturgical Dance Team and is on the Worship and Liturgical Arts Committee. She recently served as President of the Board of Directors of Resurrection Lutheran Academy, a post she held for 9 years.
